When the effects of climate change are undeniable, why are the global climate talks not going anywhere? If the EU is supposed to be a climate leader, why has it just agreed a deal which plainly contradicts what's needed and expected?
Join an interactive workshop organised by Corporate Europe Observatory and Spire to find out how lobbying from polluting industry players like ArcelorMittal, BMW and Shell are stopping our governments taking the actions we all need - and help map the true lobbying influence of Norway's own Statoil as it puts the handbrake on climate policy.
Learn how lobbying really works, and what you and your organisations can do to expose and prevent the influence of dirty industry over policy making.
The workshop will be led by Pascoe Sabido, who is a researcher and campaigner at
Corporate Europe Observatory (CEO).
CEO is a research and campaign group based in Brussels, working to expose and challenge the privileged access and influence enjoyed by corporations and their lobby groups in EU policy making.
Corporate lobbying leads to policies that exacerbate social injustice and accelerate environmental destruction across the world. CEO works in close alliance with public interest groups and social movements in and outside Europe to develop alternatives to the dominance of corporate power.
